Born out of the feminist movement of the 1970s, a parallel movement emerged, lasting into the 1990s: women who chose community with only other women. Quebecois filmmaker Myriam FougÈre travels North America to meet with some of the lesbian writers, philosophers, and activists who were key players in creating a revolutionary sisterhood, including Alix Dobkin, Carol V. Moore, and Carolyn Gage , whose insightful and evocative interviews bring to life an important part of lesbian history. These conversations, along with archival footage and photographs of these courageous and still notable women, provide a legacy an intriguing look back for modern feminists and lesbians alike.
